The benefit for Sophia which we talked about below had a huge turn-out (standing room only most of the night) and lead to more than $6,000 raised! We were so thrilled it was a total success and even more thrilled to hear that little Sophia took our banner home to hang in a spot she could see every day. We are touched.
We also wanted to give a huge thanks to the amazing Blue Vanilla Bakery for donating cupcakes to the event. They were able to throw our toppers on the cupcakes and sell them for $5 each! I speak from experience when I say these cupcakes are the BEST in town (personal favorite, red velvet) so give them a try if you’re in or around Des Moines, WA.
Sophia’s health has improved, but she is heading into another round of radiation therapy in Oklahoma City soon. For more information on how you can help check out Sohpia’s website here: http://www.gofundme.com/sophia
Lastly we wanted to thank the event coordinator, Dianna, for allowing us to be a part of this special day and continuing to support Sophia and her family. It’s people like you that make this world a better place.
(Aug 25, 2012) A few weeks ago we stumbled upon a flier at a grocery store that struck us… A benefit for a local 7 year old girl fighting a rare soft tissue cancer.
As awful of a feeling it is to see something like this, it’s our absolute favorite part of this job knowing there’s some way we can help. So we dropped an email explaining the POP Project to the event’s coordinator and she was quick to get back to us thanking us for our interest in supporting the cause.
Our August POP Project has us decorating a local pizza place for the “Sunshine For Sophia” Benefit and donating a party package to the silent auction. If you’re in the Seattle area the event will be held at:
If you aren’t in the area but want more information about Sophia and how you can help please check out her GoFundMe site: http://www.gofundme.com/sophia .
We’ll take pictures at the event and share all of the event details next week. Stay tuned…
