Few things hit us harder than a child struggling with a rare disease. With children of our own, our hearts break at the thought, and honestly, helping with party decor to help brighten even one moment for someone so small fighting something so big is the very, VERY least we could ever do.
Inspired by Ian’s “Positive Fight Mode” (a term his father coined in an effort to keep Ian and his family in a positive state of mind during this difficult time), we ran with some of the sketches on Ian’s very own website to outfit his POP Project party with personalized decor:
A day after making the special delivery we spotted the news on Facebook that Ian was given the green light to leave his Seattle Apartment and return home to Poulsbo for the weekend to celebrate his birthday with friends and family!
The North Kitsap Herald reported “In the company of about 200 parents and children throughout the event, Ian blew out his birthday candles, smiled and laughed to “Happy Birthday” as only a child could.” We were so thrilled to hear Ian got to enjoy his special day in the comfort of the city he calls home and we’re so thankful to have played a small role in making Ian feel extra special.
If it’s on your heart to help Ian and his family you can donate to his fight against an extremely rare form of Leukemia here.
