Typically we don’t like to encourage eating as your child’s activity (get a move on little ones!), but we’re going to break our own rule today.  After all, folks coming to a Cupcake Party should be expecting some indulging, and we’re happy to oblige.

A “decorate your own cupcakes” bar at least allows your guests to get creative!

Include an array of frosting options and unique toppings like fruit, candy, caramel corn, coconut, marshmallows, cereal, almonds and more.  Don’t forget to finish things off with our custom toppers!

An older group might enjoy a little cupcake fondue, for most it might be their first time!  Set it up like a picnic on the floor of your living room and go “Troop Beverly Hills” style:

Anyone else remember when the troop skipped out on the s’mores and camp out and opted for fondue in a hotel suite?  No?  Am I the only one pulling inspiration from 80′s comedies?  You and I both know Shelley Long was exuberant.

Back to the fondue…

How fun is that?

These favors will have your guests looking the part in chef hats and aprons.

Personalize things with names on the aprons and these adorable cupcake liner flowers on the hats.  So festive!  And if spending $9/apron is too rich for your blood we found these plain white children’s aprons for half the price.

Send your chef’s home with the cupcake in a jar we mentioned yesterday so they can continue their indulging once they recover from their cupcake coma.

We also spotted these cupcake photo holders on clearance at Pier 1 and absolutely love the idea of using them as favors. Take a photo of guests holding their culinary masterpieces and include the photo in a “Thank you” card to slide right into place on the photo holder!  Cupcake Party brilliance.

Tomorrow we’ll be announcing the winner of our giveaway so now’s your last chance to get entered to win a digital “you print” invite good for any party in our shop.  Good Luck!

There’s plenty of sweet treats that go with our Cupcake Party theme, but before you get the kids hopped up on sugar we think the Muffin Tin Mom is onto something when it comes to getting kids to consume something that’s good for them in a fun way that actually goes with our week’s theme:

Rumor has it Michael’s is selling these heart shaped muffin pans (don’t forget to bring your 40% off coupon!), but our favorite part about investing in pans for your guests is those stay at your house so you can continue on with the muffin tin fun going forward.  Such a creative way to sneak in some fruits and veggies!!

Now for the real fun, the teeth rotting kind.  Let’s think of all of the ways we can serve up a cupcake..

On a cone:

cake sized:

In the form of a cookie:

On a stick:

In a jar:

the list goes on and on.

For drinks we love, love, LOVE this idea of pairing mason jars with cupcake liner tops to make customized drink carriers:

Have a few different juice flavors to choose from and let your guests pick their own.

Tomorrow we’re going to be chatting about favors and activities for the Cupcake Party and Friday we’re giving away a digital “you print” invite good for any party in our shop.  It’s not too late to enter to win, all you have to do is leave a comment on any post this week.

We were so thrilled to see Michaelann’s Cupcake Party photos in our inbox because what her mom did with all the bright colors is SO. MUCH. FUN!

By the looks of things, Michaelann had a pretty good time as well:

We love seeing our Party Hat on display rather than just waiting until it’s time to wear it.  It’s too cute to hide all day!

Our smash set has never looked more adorable:

What a great idea to place poms on either side of our 12 month banner, cute!

Lastly a close-up of our bunting:

We hope Michealann had a wonderful day and thanks again to her mom for sharing it with us!  Remember to enter to win a digital “you print” invite good for any party in our shop by simply leaving a comment on any post this week.  Tomorrow we’re talking food and drink options (other than just cupcakes) for Cupcake Party Week.  We hope you’ll join us!

Once upon a time cupcakes looked a little something like this:

something most often reserved to be smooshed inside one’s lunch box causing inner white filling to splurge out. Splurge being a scientific term here.

So I went on a quick little google hunt to figure out how cupcakes went from this:

to this:

with little shops popping up left and right devoting themselves to this $3-$5 treat.

Well you can thank the dynamic duo of Carrie Bradshaw and Martha Stewart because reportedly it was the one-two punch in the form of a feature on HBO and a book:

that officially kicked off what can be described as nothing less than a cupcake BOOM.  We were happy to jump on board because not only does this sweet treat give us darling party themes:

it’s given us an excuse to make a little something called “cupcake toppers” which we find ourselves making for nearly every custom party package that gets ordered.  And for that we say thank you delicious little cupcake. Thank you.

We’ll be chatting all week about taking a cupcake and making an entire party revolve around it with some really unique favors, activities, food and drink options. In addition you can enter to win a free digital “you print” invite good for any party in our shop just by leaving a comment on any post this week.  Best of luck!
