What’s a cowboy party if  you’re guests aren’t dressing the part?  A quick easy way to get everyone into the spirit is to Gear up Partner!

 1) sheriff badge, 2) gear up sign, 3) hats, 4) bandannas, 5) child image

Once your guests are lookin’ the part, they can start feeling the part while partaking in some real cowboy activities like lassoin’:

1) pony, 2) pony corral sign, 3) pony diy

horse shoein’:

and wrappin’ things up with a smore’s cookout around the campfire!

For favors we mentioned these little smore’s party favors during camping week and they’re too cute not to mention again:

1) smore’s favor, 2) bandanna favor image

I can just picture it now, all your little buckaroos and their gunny sacks filled with cowboy treats as they’re sent along the long winding happy trail of life!??  Too much fun!

cowboy sweets

It’s all about the setting when it comes to food and drink for the cowboy party.  Somehow a regular old BBQ becomes so much more western with the addition of bandannas for napkins, metal food trays, hay bails for sitting (or a for salads/fruit/etc.) and lots of silly food tents!

1) custom food tents, 2) beanies and weenies, 3) ants on a log, 4) hot dogs, 5) corn on the cob

We talked about this idea during camping party week (and actually a lot of our camping party ideas pair great with the cowboy theme), but setting up a trail mix station is a festive addition playing on the whole “happy trails” cowboy saying.

 trail mix station

We can customize the trail mix station sign and centerpiece wraps to match the cowboy theme and all you need is some tin cans to recreate this trail mix magic!

For sweets we found a variety of cowboy cookies and cake pops online that are way too cute to pass up.  Loving all this cow print:

 1) cake pops, 2) candy3) cookies

Finish things off at the waterin’ hole where your little buckaroos can re-hydrate and get ready for the day’s events!   Our coordinating party straws never looked so cute:

1) pop shop straws, custom food tents, 2) mason jar drinks, 3) coke image, 4) coke crate

Old fashioned soda, mason jars filled with ice cold lemonade and water bottles with coordinating water bottle labels (care of yours truly) will fashion up the fanciest waterin’ hole this side of the Mississippi!

As for tomorrow, get on back here for activity and favor ideas that will wear your little buckaroo’s out and send them on their merry little way.  Happy Trails to you… until we meet again!

Howdy partner!  Our new cowboy party is now available in shop and we couldn’t be more thrilled to tell ya’ll about it!

It’s a birthday round up complete with a pony corral, waterin’ hole and more!  Ya’ll better gear up!

Too fun right!?  We’re loving how this particular design differs from the other cowboy party we have available in shop.  So make sure to mosey on by and check both of em out!  Tomorrow we’re talking food and drink ideas for the cowboy party so ya’ll come back now, ya hear!?

I’m not sure if Saved By The Bell could have possibly made the same impact on you and your friends from high school as it did on me and my friends from high school… and by “friends from high school” I mean these two weirdos I happen to own this business with:

and a couple other goobers that have been in our life for a little while now… (a measly 20 years), check out the 5 of us at Julie’s wedding in 2007:

but back to The Bell… Saved by the Bell… it has a special place in our hearts.  We grew up with Bayside, and we spent our after school hours memorizing re-runs like the rest of you.  Right!?  Or are we alone in this?  The extent of our trivia has left no stone un-turned.  No substitute teacher missed, even the Miss Bliss years aren’t off limits.  What’s come of this extensive Bell knowledge, since clearly we’ve graduated and it’s hard to maintain the ongoing trivia game, is but a simple phrase every 4th of July:

Family, Friends Fun and Fireworks… that’s the 4th

So poignant.

For those of you that may not know, this is a famous Stacy Carosi quote that one would have thought would have solidified her win as Miss Liberty in the pageant held by those crazy kids while working at the Malibu Sands Beach Club (their summer job of course).  However, in a wild twist, Zack (one of the judges) gives his tie-breaking vote to Kelly (his EX!) and not to Stacy (his current beau and the daughter of his boss!), but he knew, and didn’t we all, that Kelly deserved the win.  Albeit totally controversial.

Can we take a quick moment of silence on behalf of those spunky pageant gowns!?

Each year, without a doubt, one of my friends (if not me) will wish the others a happy 4th and Carosi’s quote will indeed come up.  It’s one tradition I can count on every 4th of July and since it has to be said by someone this year, I wanted to give a quick shout out to the 4 best friends on the planet and say:

Family, Friends Fun and Fireworks… that’s the 4th

And yes Jules, we’ll tell everyone you jumped in the water too.  Happy 4th of July everybody!!

4th of July Party Decorations

This little guy share’s his special day with America and his mom decided to embrace the ole red white and blue with regards to party decor:

all of the above pairs great with our new POP Party Supplies:

Whether it’s your happy birthday or you just want to add a festive touch to your next 4th of July bash, there’s a party for that!  We do holiday, baby shower, bachelorette party, etc. decor for nearly ANY event!!  Have a safe and fun 4th ya’ll!

All good things must come to an end and thus we’re faced with bringing Watermelon Party Week to a close once again.  Hopefully we’ve left you with plenty of ideas to inspire your next watermelon event! lemonade, hat, 3.DIY watermelon jam, 4.Dress, 5.centerpiece sticks, 6.punch bowl, 7.watermelon popsicles, 8.hay bail image, 9.wagon, 10.galvanized bucket image, 11.cookies, 12.chalkboard, 13.watermelon cake, 14.pitcher vase image, 15. scones image,  16.burlap sack races

The beauty of having a picnic to accompany the watermelon party is you can use activities you’re probably very familiar with, but your kids and their friends may have never even played before!

1. burlap sack race, 2. bean bag toss game, 3.bean bag image, 4. three legged race image, 5. Burlap sack, 6. wheel barrow race image

Outdoor games will keep kids busy and adults thoroughly entertained.  And don’t forget about incorporating the watermelon into the games:

1. watermelon roll image, 2. eating contest image, 3. seed spitting image

Roll, Eat, Spit!

Aka Roll the watermelon in a watermelon race, Eat the watermelon in a watermelon eating contest and Spit the seeds in a seed spitting contest.  I mean how often do we really ask that our kids spit!?  They’ll love it.

For the favors these mini picnic baskets adorned with “thanks for coming to my birthday picnic!” tags (care of PartyOnPurpose of course) are totally fitting.  Or you could skip the usual “treats in a bag” type favor and send your guests home with a jar of watermelon jam.

1. watermelon jam image, 2.  mini picnic baskets, 3. watermelon candy

So much fun to be had and so little time and most importantly so little money that needs to be spent!  Most of these games can be done with very little funds which shows just how far being silly and surrounded by the people you care about most really make your party and the rest is just extra details you can choose to worry about or choose NOT to worry about.

Fresh watermelon slices is the easy food/decor option for a watermelon party:

1. watermelon on a stick, 2. watermelon balls, 3. fresh watermelon

On a stick, in a ball or the traditional triangle!  But what else?

We thought we’d roll with a picnic theme meaning each child picks a little sack lunch out of a giant picnic basket and grabs a blanket to go find a spot on the grass to sit and enjoy!

1.watermelon picnic basket, 2. burlap bags, 3. sandwich image, 4. crackers image, 5. picnic watermelon slices, 6. juice image

1. galvanized bucket image, 2. blankets image

Simply roll the blankets up and place them in a galvanized bucket or cool basket with a little “take one” sign (customized by yours truly).

Pure delight.

Popsicleswatermelon pops, cupcakes and cookies round out our meal and curb that sweet tooth:

1. watermelon pops, 2. cupcakes, 3. cookies, 4. Popsicles

And there’s plenty of room to get creative with your drinks as well:

1. punch bowl, 2. mason jars, 3.  watermelon martini

How cute are those little mason jars?!  So simple, and amazing what a small shred of coordinating fabric can do!  Whether you’re going alcoholic like this watermelon martini or non alcoholic there’s great options to choose from.
